This notice covers the Prestige Barrelled Whisky website and companion app in their current prototype form. Personal details entered here stay in this browser. Saving an enquiry does not send it to Prestige Barrelled or to a producer.
What stays on your device
We use browser storage to remember your age acknowledgement, Cellar shortlist and latest whisky recommendation. The companion also saves your quiz answers, calendar view and reduced-media preference.
If you create a companion profile, your name, age, location, flavour preferences and profile dates are stored locally to personalise the experience. This does not create an online account.
Enquiry drafts contain the details you enter: name, email, optional phone number on the website, area of interest or subject, message and a saved date. Website introduction drafts also record the intended recipient and your sharing choice. Please do not include payment details, identity documents or sensitive personal information.
How this information is used
Local records let you return to your saved whiskies, update your profile, see your latest recommendation and prepare an enquiry. Recommendations use fixed matching rules applied in your browser. Your answers are not sent to an AI service.
The prototype does not send these records to a CRM, mailing list, distillery or authorised seller. It does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Browser storage and website delivery
The application uses local storage rather than cookies for these preferences and drafts. No analytics or advertising trackers are included in the current application. The installed companion also caches pages and media on your device for offline use.
Loading a website still requires network requests. The hosting service receives technical connection information, such as an IP address and requested page, and may retain operational logs. The hosting provider, log retention and any international transfers must be confirmed before production launch; they have not been verified for this prototype.
Retention and removal
Local records have no automatic expiry. They remain until you replace or remove them, clear this site’s browser data, or your browser removes them. They are not synchronised between devices, and anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see them.
You can remove individual whiskies from your Cellar and edit your companion profile. To remove all saved details and enquiry drafts, close other tabs for this site and use your browser’s site settings to clear its stored data, including local storage and offline caches. Reload afterwards. This also resets your age acknowledgement, profile, preferences and shortlist. Uninstalling the companion alone may not clear browser data.
Prestige Barrelled cannot retrieve or delete records held only in your browser. Clearing these records is permanent; the prototype has no server copy from which to restore them.
Introductions and external websites
Saving a whisky or preparing an introduction does not notify a producer, reserve availability or make a purchase. Prestige Barrelled does not sell or ship whisky directly.
Before a future service shares personal details, it must identify the intended recipient, explain the purpose and obtain your explicit agreement. A distillery or authorised seller will have its own privacy notice and terms. Links to external websites are governed by those websites’ notices.
Your privacy choices
Where UK data protection law applies, rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, depending on the processing. Where consent is the basis, you can withdraw it. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
The service is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their location. The age acknowledgement is not identity verification.

The contact location supplied for this prototype is Prestige Barrelled Whisky, 13 Hanover Square, Mayfair, London W1S 1HN, United Kingdom. The online enquiry form saves locally and cannot deliver a privacy request.
Before live personal-data collection begins, this notice must identify the verified data controller and privacy contact, purposes and lawful bases, service providers, recipients, retention periods and any international-transfer safeguards. We will update the date above when this notice changes.
